Introduction

The main air base of the Türk Deniz Kuvvetleri (Turkish Navy) is Topel. It is situated 100 km east of Istanbul. 301 Filo is equipped with SOCATA TB-20 Trinidad used for training and the maritime patrol version of the CASA CN-235. 351 Filo is the helicopter squadron. It flies Agusta-Bell AB.204B, AB.212AS and Sikorsky S-70B-28 Seahawk. Türk Sahil Güvenlik (Turkish Coast Guard) also maintains some assets at Topel with CASA CN-235s being regular visitors.
